Special Interest Groups
In recognition that members of APACALL have special interests in different
aspects of CALL, APACALL establishes a number of Special Interest
Groups (SIGs) to provide members with a forum for specialized discussion
and activity in their particular areas of interest and expertise. Members
may be affiliated with more than one SIG, but need to nominate one SIG as
their principle area of interest.
Members are encouraged to participate in
the activities of the SIG and to define
issues and standards within that interest area. Each SIG may produce a
newsletter to be circulated to members who nominate that SIG as their
primary area of interest. SIG news items of more general interest may be
posted on the SIG Webpage. Each SIG may also host a discussion forum for
members to facilitate the active and on-going exchange and development of
professional ideas and concepts. When APACALL hosts conferences,
SIGs will convene special sessions or panel discussions in their areas at
the conferences.
